They Don't Get It!!!!!

So the Republicans in the lame duck session have now had a chance to show what they learned from this lesson.
The result: They learned nothing.
Here is a summary of what they agreed to with President Obama:
- Continue taxes at the current level for 2 year
- set the death tax at 0% under 5 mill and a max of around 30% above that
- extend unemployment benefits from an additional 13 months
So in the election the message (at lease mine) was to not increase taxes and to reduce spending.
This bill does keep taxes at the same level. However, it increases spending!!!
I believe that right now you can get unemployment benefits for 2 years. They just added 13 more months. Does someone really need unemployment for 3 years? You are telling me that I have to pay someone to sit on the couch for 3 years while they don't look for a job!!!
This deal was bad for Republicans because it shows they still don't get it. BUT, it may be worse for Obama. Only time will tell.
