Helen Thomas

Helen Thomas is (was) employed as a reporter. So this reporter has been working at the White House for over 60 years. She covers the press releases from the White House and reports it to her newspaper.
I will admit now that I do not recall ever reading any of her articles.
But here are her comments recently to a Jewish Rabbi at a White House event (quote taken from Wikipedia.org):
"Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine... Remember, these people are occupied, and it's their land; its not German, its not Poland's."[24] She was then asked where they should go, to which she replied: "they should go home" to "Poland, Germany." Then, after another question she added, "America and everywhere else."
WHAT?!?!?! Did she really say that...to a Jewish Rabbi? This lady must be wacked out it the head. But people do have a right to their own opinions.
Thomas then did the cowardly thing and issued a statement via her website (From Wikipedia.org):
"I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon."
I understand that reports have opinions about things, but she apparently has a very strong opinion about this. So can we believe anything else that she has reported? Also, I am tired of people apologizing because they are trying to save face and look better. You can tell from her apology that she is not sorry..only sorry that she got caught saying it. She never states she does not believe what she said. It was just a last effort to keep her job. She will do more good now that she is retired and no longer writing articles.
