Al and Tipper Gore

So it was announced two days ago that Al and Tipper Gore were splitting up after 40 years of marriage. How crazy is that?
They were married for 40 years!!!! I can only guess at what led to the divorce, but here is my educated guess. Since Al has been on his "green" hi, he has been traveling all over the world doing speeches and similar things. He has left his wife (Tipper) behind and has not thought twice about her.
From the start, Al has been someone who craved the spotlight. As the Vice President he was over shadowed by Clinton and Gore could not handle that. Again, when he ran for President, he was beaten and over shadowed by Bush. By becoming the spokesperson for the environment, Al has been able to reach a level of fame that he has never been able to reach before.
He has won awards for being in a movie and for promoting the stopping of global warming. (Apparently it does not matter that the things he won awards for were full of lies, at best, and contained no truth more likely.)
Al thinks that he is the best thing since sliced bread and has left his wife behind acting like it. I feel sorry for Tipper and wish her the best of luck. Al on the other hand receives my pity because his life is full of lies and without anything to stand on.
If Al actually believed what he was presenting speeches on, would he be burning all that energy flying across the world talking about it (and making a LOT of money) instead of using current technology to save energy.
